Healthy Homemade Burgers
Makes eight burgers
Try out this homemade recipe for a fabulous healthy burger, using Meat With Us certified-organic mince. A family-friendly, easy meal to whip up on any night of the week.
Ingredients:
Burgers:
8 Burger buns, baps or sourdough rolls
Iceberg Lettuce - finely shredded
8 Cheese Slices
Any condiments and fillings of your choice - get creative!
Homemade Patties:
400g certified organic Meat With Us beef mince
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 small carrot, grated
1 small brown onion, finely chopped
1 small courgette, grated
½ cup panko crumbs or dried breadcrumbs
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or 1 tsp mixed dried herbs
Salt and pepper
Method:
In a bowl, mix all the homemade patties ingredients together.
Shape into 8 patties, arrange onto a tray or plate, cover and refrigerate for 30min.
Preheat a clean BBQ hotplate (or just use a frying pan). Cook patties for 5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
Set the patties on a board or plate, loosely cover with foil, to rest for 5 – 10 minutes before serving.
Grab the burger buns, slice them in half and toast them slightly under an oven grill set to 180 degrees.
Time to assemble! Start with the bottom bun and spread condiments of your choice on it, top with a homemade Meat With Us beef patty, cheese, lettuce and your favourite fillings.
